Deep Blue Vibrant Oatmeal

Bright blue bowl of oatmeal and citrus

If you ever hear someone say “oatmeal is so boring” again, please promptly stage an intervention. Breakfast will never be boring again with this easy recipe for deep blue vibrant oats in your life. This is a plant-based, gluten-free oatmeal recipe that takes under 10 minutes to make and comes packed with brain-boosting blue spirulina or “blue majyk”.

This is full of primary colors to catch even the shortest morning attention span and is an awesome alternative to higher-priced packaged oats on the market. The cool thing about spirulina, a fresh water algae, is that it helps boost your brain, but can also serves as a vegan source of protein and B-12s which can be super tough to find if you’re vegan. It also makes any breakfast look very pretty which is highly important.

The thing with blue spirulina is that it’s awesome for you and does so many amazing things for your body, but sort of tastes like dirt if you just straight-up eat it with nothing else added in. Having this algae in oats is a great way to ease yourself info trying it, while still enjoying something delicious. I made mine with thick-cut oats, E3 Live blue spirulina, a touch of Pearl Butter Smartypantsuit Coconut Butter which is optional but delicious, almond milk, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and a little banana for sweetness.
