Activated coconut charcoal - this is the byproduct of burning coconut shells and meat. It gets “activated” by the high temperatures in this process that remove its oxygen and activate the its chemical structure - pretty cool! There have been a number of studies about activated charcoal’s detoxifying properties. I personally see a huge difference when I use it to fight bloat and a feeling of general post-Saturday night puffiness.
Dandelion Root Extract Powder - I’ve loved dandelion in my teas for years and recently started using dandelion root extract powder in my lattes. I find that it helps fight my bloat. Studies also show that it may have significant antioxidants in it and some say it may help speed up your metabolism, though studies on the latter claim aren’t as prevalent.
I know the idea of drinking a black latte sounds a bit weird, but just trust me on this - you’re going to love it! Plus, the taste is amazing. You really don’t taste the coconut charcoal at all.

ingredients:
- - 1 cup hot plant milk (I love almond and cashew milk)
- - 1/4 cup hot water
- - 1 tsp activated coconut charcoal powder
- - 1/8 tsp dandelion root extract powder
- - 1/2 tsp Manuka honey or maple syrup (optional)

- BLEND on high for about 30 seconds, then pour into your favorite mug. I love adding a little extra charcoal on top, then lightly swirling it into the foam
