The Results from Copina Co’s Vegan Collagen Support Consumer Survey

As you may know, we’re extremely passionate about the power of plant botanicals and their ability to make a real impact on our health and wellbeing. Copina Co. began after our founder Carolyn struggled with dry skin, gut health, and acne for years, going through multiple rounds of harsh prescription treatments that had negative effects on her skin and gut health, before finally turning to holistic medicine and learning the power of plants to heal from the inside out. We believe that you deserve supplements that work, so we work with herbalists to properly formulate and dose the ingredients in our blends for maximum efficacy.
Our bodies produce collagen naturally, but declines as we age. Studies have shown that collagen production naturally begins to decline around age 25. Collagen plays a vital role in the health of your skin, bones and connective tissues, keeping joints strong, making skin elastic and helping protect your organs, as well as other functions. Simply put, collagen helps to hold your body together! As we age, it’s important to help our bodies produce enough collagen to keep ourselves functioning at our best. It’s possible to help support and protect collagen production through lifestyle and diet choices, but it’s often easier and more beneficial to add a supplement like our Plant-Based Collagen Boost Blends to your routine to support and boost your body’s natural collagen production process in just one easy step.

We’re so passionate about the power and effectiveness of plant based ingredients that in May 2022, we started our first ever consumer survey. Each participant took 2 doses of our Plant-Based Collagen Boost Blends in their diets each day for 8 weeks and reported on the results. Participants completed surveys at the 2, 4, 6, and 8 week marks, reporting if they saw any changes in their hair, skin, and nail health, as well as reporting any changes in how they feel or anything else they noticed as a result of adding the collagen support blends to their routine.
The response from the survey was overwhelmingly positive.
100% of respondents noticed increased skin hydration in 2 months
100% of respondents noticed a difference in overall skin glow in 2 months
92.9% of respondents noticed a difference in hair thickness in 2 months
92.9% of respondents noticed a difference in nail strength in 2 months
100% of respondents noticed a difference in overall skin vibrance and "glow"

Participants noted changes including less nail breakage, less hair shedding and breakage, fewer dry patches on the face and body, and skin feeling more supple and vibrant.

When asked if they noticed any difference in their skin’s vibrance, one respondent said, “YES YES YES! This has helped with skin vibrancy so much. My skin used to be so dull it was hard not to wear makeup. Now I don’t wear makeup 90% of the time and feel so confident.”

What makes our plant-based & vegan collagen boost blends unique is that they support collagen from all angles, both fighting collagen degradation and promoting collagen production.* Each ingredient in our 3rd-party lab-tested botanical blends has been chosen for its potency and efficacy. Some have been used for thousands of years in Eastern Medicine and Ayurveda and all have real research to back them up.

A quick overview of our ingredients:

Tremella Mushroom Extract
The tremella mushroom is an edible species of fungus that has been used in Eastern medicine for over a thousand years. This superfood has historically been used to help boost skin hydration over time after being consumed.* The mushroom’s ability to hold water as well as its nutrient properties, including being an abundant source of Vitamin D, make it a skincare powerhouse.

Bamboo Extract
Silica-rich bamboo has been used in Indian Ayurvedic medicine and Chinese herbal medicine for centuries as a remedy to heal skin ailments, relieve congestion, promote bone health, and more.* Silica is a vital mineral and found abundantly in bamboo, one of the few natural sources.

Amla Berry
Amla berry has a rich history in Ayurveda and has been traditionally used as a general tonic both topically and internally as a coolant to moderate excess heat and inflammation in the body and also to increase vitality, enhance digestion, stimulate hair growth, and promote longevity.* It is naturally abundant in antioxidants and vitamin C.*

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a molecule made up of sugars that our bodies naturally produce. Our cells produce hyaluronic acid to balance moisture levels in our bodies, but make less of it as we age.* Our food grade hyaluronic acid helps to boost collagen production in our bodies and help our skin attract and retain moisture, helping with aging*. It’s also been shown to help smooth wrinkles, boost elasticity, help with skin firmness and boost skin radiance as well as help lubricate joints and promote joint health.*

Gotu Kola Extract
Gotu Kola is an Ayurvedic herb with a history of healing the skin, which contains collagen-synthesis enhancing triterpenes such as asiaticoside.* Gotu Kola has been shown to enhance the cross-linking of collagen and support increased collagen production in the body.* Several studies have shown that skin thickness, elasticity, and collagen levels all increased with the addition of Gotu Kola to a patient’s regimen.*

Biotin
Biotin is a member of the vitamin B complex family. Its primary functions include turning the nutrients we ingest (i.e. proteins, fats and carbohydrates) into energy that our body can use. This is important as many of our daily functions such as metabolic, digestive and cardiovascular wouldn't happen without it.* Each Copina Co. blend (of our new formula coming out in 2022) contains 3,000mcg Biotin per serving. That amounts to over 10,000% of your daily value.* A daily dose of biotin helps support strong nail health and support collagen synthesis in the body.*

Ashwagandha**
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen – this means that it’s a plant which helps our bodies adapt to stress and maintain overall balance.* KSM-66® Ashwagandha is the highest concentration ashwagandha extract powder on the market and has been shown, through extensive research, to have a wide array of health benefits including blocking stress pathways that regulate chemical signaling in the nervous system.*
**only Cacao Calm contains 300mg of Organic KSM-66 Ashwagandha Extract per serving to help fight against daily stress.*

Matcha**
Matcha is a whole leaf green tea which has been revered for its purity and health benefits for centuries. Matcha green tea, unlike regular green tea, is grown in the shade rather than the sun, enabling it to develop higher chlorophyll levels which give it its vibrant color. Matcha is also rich in L-Theanine, an amino acid that works to promote a brain function, concentration, and sense of calmness without the nervous energy or jitters.* L-Theanine can also work to reduce anxiety because of the high and raw amounts that are found in matcha.*
**Only Matcha pouches and stick packs contain Japanese matcha green tea powder.

Plants are an amazing resource in our pursuit of better health and overall wellbeing and it’s exciting to see the benefits they can bring to our bodies and minds. The beauty industry has focused for so long on how we look, but to look our best, we need to turn our attention inwards and begin to focus on internal health indicators and take note of how we feel.
